Understanding people is at the heart of all that Drascombe does.  Our primary goal is to deliver the insights and practical advice that will best enable the board, organisation and people we are working with to optimise their effectiveness and resilience, collectively and individually.

Drascombe Board Advisory is founded by Sam Butcher. Sam has worked with boards for 30 years, initially as an executive working in governance, law and managing change, and then as an independent adviser for over 17 years.  From direct experience, Sam has a deep understanding of board effectiveness and the internal workings, dymnamics and challenges of large, complex organisations.

Sam has advised chairs, boards and executive teams across a wide range of organisations delivering pragmatic advice and solutions, including in heavily regulated industries.  His clients have included large listed companies, complex private organisations, government enterprises, superannuation funds, industry bodies and universities.
